A free leave planner for Excel

Entitlements, requests and balances for a small team, over a leave year starting in the month you choose. April is set to begin with, matching India’s financial year.

Download the template

An Excel file, about 30 KB. No sign-up, and no email address needed.

It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice Calc. There are no macros.

What is in it

  • An entitlement and a carry-over cap per person, and what each carried in.
  • A request log that counts working days for you, leaving out weekends and your public holidays.
  • Accrued so far, available now and left for the year, with pending requests shown separately.
  • What carries into next year, up to each person’s cap.
  • A month at a time of who is away, with approved and pending leave shaded differently.

Optional. We send an email when we publish a new template or guide, and nothing else. You can stop them at any time.

Thank you. You are on the list, and every email says how to come off it.

Nothing was stored: the address did not look right, or the box agreeing to emails was not ticked.

That did not work on our side, and nothing was stored. Please try again later.

Leave and timesheets in one place

ReliTime keeps balances and requests, has somebody else approve them, shows who is away, and reconciles approved leave against the hours people book.

Questions people ask

Is the leave planner free?

Yes. Download it and use it as you like, with no sign-up and no email address needed.

Does it work in Google Sheets or LibreOffice?

Yes. Every figure is an ordinary formula with no macros, so it opens in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice Calc and works in each.

How does it work out accrued leave?

A twelfth of the yearly entitlement for each full month since the leave year began. "Available now" is that plus what was carried in, less approved leave.

What happens to leave taken past an entitlement?

The balance goes below zero and is highlighted, but it is not carried into the next year as a debt: leave taken past an entitlement was agreed as an exception.

See it on your own kind of work

We set ReliTime up with a walkthrough rather than a sign-up form. We will take you through a working organisation, from a week of timesheets through approvals and work in progress to a GST invoice, answer your questions as we go, and set up yours.
