Moving from WorkflowMax

A WorkflowMax alternative for engineering consultancies

ReliTime is timesheets, approvals, job costing and Indian GST invoicing for consultancies that bill clients by project and phase. If you are weighing a move from WorkflowMax, this page says how the move works, what comes across, and where each product fits.

WorkflowMax today

Xero retired the original WorkflowMax on 26 June 2024. WorkflowMax by BlueRock is a separate, current product, actively run by BlueRock. This page compares ReliTime with WorkflowMax by BlueRock.

How the move works

  1. 1. Export your data as CSV

Download your clients, jobs, job tasks, staff and timesheets from WorkflowMax as CSV files.

  2. 2. We import it for you

We bring the files into your ReliTime organisation, set up your people, and tell you anything that did not fit.

  3. 3. You check projects and rates

Before anybody records time, you check the jobs, phases, tasks and each person’s rates, and we fix anything that is wrong.

Clients, jobs and their tasks, each person’s rates, and past timesheets come across. Invoices, quotes, leave and costs do not: an invoice you have issued stays the tax document it is.

Where ReliTime fits

  • You bill clients by job and phase, at rates that change over time.
  • You invoice under Indian GST, including zero-rated exports to overseas clients.
  • You want approvals, locked weeks and an audit trail from the start.
  • You want budgets on jobs, phases and tasks, with your WorkflowMax history counted against them.

What to check before moving

  • ReliTime has no quotes or estimates to send to a client.
  • It does not connect to an accounting package. Data leaves as CSV files that open in Excel.
  • It runs in a desktop or phone browser, with no separate app.
  • Invoices are Indian GST tax invoices. Other tax regimes are not supported yet.

Questions people ask

Is ReliTime a WorkflowMax alternative?

For a consultancy that records time against jobs and invoices under Indian GST, yes. ReliTime covers timesheets, approvals, rates, work in progress, budgets and GST invoicing. It does not do quotes or connect to an accounting package, so if you rely on those, check that before moving.

Is WorkflowMax still available?

Yes. WorkflowMax by BlueRock is actively run by BlueRock. The original WorkflowMax, run by Xero, was retired on 26 June 2024.

How do we move across?

Export your data as CSV, we import it for you, then you check projects and rates before anybody records time.

What happens to our past timesheets?

They come across as history that counts against job budgets, so a job moved halfway through shows the hours it has already used. They are never billed again, because they were invoiced from WorkflowMax.

Do invoices and quotes come across?

No. An invoice already issued stays the tax document it is, and creating it again here would make a second document for one supply. Leave, quotes and costs do not come across either.

We set ReliTime up with a walkthrough rather than a sign-up form. We will take you through a working organisation, from a week of timesheets through approvals and work in progress to a tax invoice, answer your questions as we go, and set up yours.
